"ndc reconfig" vs "ndc reload"

Can someone explain the difference between "ndc reconfig" and "ndc
reload"?  If I have a script that signals BIND after making changes to
zones and/or config files, should I do "ndc reconfig" followed by "ndc
reload"?  This is with bind 8.2.2-P5.
