What's not to understand? That record maps the name "www.yoururl.com" to
the IP address "198.123.243.1". This is one of the most basic functions
of DNS (Domain Name Service). For more information on DNS, get the
_DNS_and_BIND_ O'Reilly book, or, for free, read RFC's 1034 and 1035.
There are plenty of other DNS resources also, just search for "DNS".
