Question on Domain names

Perhaps because they try it and it doesn't work. The usual problem
is not DNS, of course, but with the web server. If they're using
Apache and name-based addressing, they've defined their virtual host
name as "www.example.com" but they don't know they need to also
provide a ServerAlias statement for "example.com".
