It shouldn't work if you're running at least BIND 4.9.x.  Prior to 4.9,
BIND allowed records to appear in any zone file.

No, sendmail is looking up the MX record for bogus.my.domain.  Your server
should only load that record if it finds it in the bogus.my.domain zone
file.  Any records in the my.domain zone file that are for bogus.my.domain,
except the delegation NS records, should be ignored, with a log message
about the records being outside the zone.
