You are absolutely correct, I have been imagining this for all these years. So, nslookup never adds the domain name to a request containing a dot in it, but not at the end?????? So, I went to my Solaris System to check this out. ? So, why don't you believe me now(BTW, I did this on an NT and HPUX machine, same results)
