Hello all,
I am running Solairs 2.7 with sendmail 8.9.1. One of the virtual hosts in this web server has email problem when I send email direct
ly from this machine/server.
e.g. mailx -s "test " userid at virtualdomain.com < test.txt
then I got error message very quick:
userid at virtualdomain.com... User unknown
However I can send message through other servers to this email address without any problems.
Since the DNS mx record for this virtual host is a different domain, I am thinking the name solving process even didn't go through t
he DNS server to find the mail exchanger for this virtual host when I send message from the machine with the virtual host configured
. So the problem must come from the Solaris configuration in this machine. I checked /etc/hosts file, the virtual host domain is not
list in this file. I checked the sendmail.cw for sendmail, the virtual host domain is not listed in this file either. I check the D
NS setup for this domain, the mx record setup is correct (successfully sending message through other server means the DNS setup is r
ight). I check /etc/resolv.conf file, the DNS server is on the top list. What else I should check?
Thannks in advance!
Jian
