ISC Joins With Universities To Provide Hosting Services For Mozilla Foundation

ISC and APNIC Install The First Root Nameserver in China

Redwood City, CA -- ISC (ISC) has installed a new F-root server anycast instance in Beijing in cooperation with APNIC, China Telecom and the Beijing Internet Exchange which is run by China Netcom Corporation (CNC). The new server is a mirror of the F-root nameserver managed by ISC in the United States.

Despite being the world's most populous country, China has never enjoyed the benefits of a local root nameserver, and this development will bring dramatic improvements in speed and reliability to Internet users in Beijing, China and the surrounding region.

ISC Announces Start of OARC Operations Crisis Coordination Center

Redwood City, CA - Today, the ISC (ISC) initiates operation of a crisis coordination center to protect the Internet's global Domain Name System (DNS). Non-profit ISC's new member-based Operations, Analysis, and Research Center (OARC) includes an Incident Response System, a trusted environment enabling major network operators to coordinate responses to threats and attacks on the DNS. While ISC OARC member organizations may be business competitors, members agree to work together for the common good during times of crisis while also protecting proprietary data.

ISC and Canada's National Research Council deploy first Root server in Canada

Redwood City, CA -- ISC (ISC) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) announce deployment of a new F-root server in Ottawa, Canada. NRC's contribution of equipment and network services combined with ISC's installation and operational expertise enabled the successful installation of the first root server in Canada. This server was installed as part of ISC's ongoing effort to increase the global footprint of its F-root server and thus increase the reliability of the DNS system worldwide.

ISC and APNIC expand DNS root server footprint with deployment of new F-root services in Seoul

Redwood City, CA -- ISC (ISC) and APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre) announce deployment of a new F-root server in Seoul. This server was deployed as part of a regional effort involving APNIC and ISC, with KRNIC (Korean Network Information Center) providing secure hosting premises and Internet connectivity. The new server will handle DNS queries for the large concentration of Internet users in Korea as well as for the surrounding areas.
