This current release of BIND 10 marks the achievement of the first year milestone for the project, an authoritative-only DNS server. As part of its collaborative mission, ISC encourages all DNS administrators and developers to download and thoroughly test BIND 10.

LACNIC Announces Agreement for the Installation of Root Server F Copy in HAITI

Continuing with the effort for the development and the stability of the Internet in Latin America and the Caribbean, LACNIC jointly with AHTIC, signed today an agreement which will allow the installation in Haiti of an anycast copy in the Caribbean of a F Root Server.

This important event took place during LACNIC's annual meeting, LACNIC XIII, which is being held at this moment at Curaçao, where Raul Echeberria, LACNIC's Executive Director and Paul Vixie, President of ISC, and Reynold Guerrier in representation of AHTIC signed the agreement.

ISC Announces BIND 9.7 Release “DNSSEC for Humans”

Redwood City, CA – April 23, 2010. Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) announces the much anticipated release of BIND 9.7, designed to make DNSSEC easier to implement and use.

DNSSEC extends standard DNS to prove data came from an official source and has not been modified. DNSSEC is not a secure tunnel; instead, it adds resource records and message header bits which can be used to verify that the requested data matches the original data, and has not been altered in transit.
